Hello,

My name is Richard. I lived in Kansas City from 1974 until 1994.  My daughter attended MO West at one time.  I just wanted to tell you that of all the candy I have tried in my life, your Cherry Mash bar is my absolute favorite.  I used to drive by the factory and tease my daughter telling her I would love to work there.  Unfortunately I cannot get Cherry Mash out here, so sometimes my daughter sends them to me from Denver where she lives.  I just wanted to tell you that you have a great product and please keep up the good work.  I even scanned a wrapper and use it for wallpaper one my computer.  All my best and may you have much success.

From a lifelong fan in California,

Dear Sir,

I have purchased a can of your Cherry Mash candy.  I find it delightful so much so that I am motivated to write to you to express my pleasure with your product.  It is a cut above average.  Its rich, pleasant flavor is pure delight.  I enjoy eating it at any time during the day and into the night. Please tell me a little about your company and your product.  If you have any brochures or booklets which discuss the history of your company or your product, please send me a copy of such literature.  If you have a 1998 calendar please send me one. Thank you for your cooperation and for your delightful candy.

Sincerely,
Edward

Dear Chase Candy Company:

I am now eating one of your wonderful CHERRY MASH Candy Bars, and it is wonderfully delicious.  I am 41 years old and used to eat these when I was young in West Texas.  I find that they are hard to find in Houston where I have lived since college, but have recently discovered a store in downtown Houston that carries them.  Several others in this office have commented that they too used to enjoy the CHERRY MASH in their younger days.  I would be interested in learning more about your company and the history of my favorite candy bar.  Thanks ever so much.

Sincerely,
Stephen

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am sure this is more than an unusual letter.  For it is not of a business nature, neither can it be classed as of a social nature.  My best definition would be "memories of an old man (81years old)" as pertaining to the dates indicated in the reference mentioned above.

I assume that you are well aware that Halloween has come and gone for this year, with it's usual ghosts, goblins and trick-or-treats routine.

I was inspecting the remaining leftover treats to see if there was anything that was to my liking.  Much to my amazement, there was a "Chase Candy Co. Cherry Mash Candy Bar" (bite size)--(wrapper enclosed)) which immediately brought back fond and pleasant memories of the era indicated above (1933-1935).

I grew up in a very small-town of Reynolds, Nebr., (population 250), one of the many locations which the traveling salesmen called on their regular accounts.

The Chase Candy Company representative called regularly on this particular general store at Reynolds, Nebr.. We kids soon caught on to the schedule of the candy salesman and looked forward to his arrival for we knew that candy samples were to be had, due to his generosity.

I recall the sample case that the salesman carried.  It opened up similar to an accordion Instrument or better yet, more like an enlarged version of a tackle box.  When the salesman arrived he carried into the store the tackle box arrangement that was loaded with various candy goodies.  Also there were always other boxes that contained the delicacy of rich chocolate.

When the salesman started to open up his cases, that was the signal for us "penniless urchins to get a little closer for we knew from past experience that through the salesman’s generosity we would receive several tid-bits of candy.

Some sixty odd years have past since then and I was not aware the Chase Candy Company is still a thriving enterprise until I found in our trick-or-treat assortment, a miniature Cherry Mash Candy Bar with the Chase Candy Company name on the wrapper, Perhaps the reason I like good rich chocolate today is because of the high quality chocolate which Chase Candy Company used in their products and which the salesman passed on to us kids.

Thanking you in advance for listening.  And as a "Senior Citizen" I still have fond and pleasant memories of my childhood days and of the Chase Candy Company, also the kind and generous salesman who had many kids as friends, and last but not least, the recollection of when the Cherry Mash Candy Bar was " five (5) pennies."

Sincerely,
Ernest

Hi there,
You probably think I am pretty nuts, stressing over this.  Well, my family and I have been stationed in Salt Lake City, UT.  NO Cherry Mashes!!!!!! :-(
I got a case in July when we came through, and they are gone. :-( There are none to be found here, only the imposters.
Needless, to say I cannot rely on the family or friends, they usually eat them before I even get the chance to get a whiff  :-( Can you please help me. :-)
Oh, and another question, is there away that I could get some of the samples to hand out to my friends.
They think that I am pretty weird going nuts over these Cherry Mashes.  Hope you can help me with my dilemma.
Thanks a bunch.
Go Cherry Mashes, Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always,
Sandra

Dear Madam or Sir:

I attended the Sweet Adeline's Summer Music School in St. Joseph last weekend.  In our "goodie bag" were three small Cherry Mashes.  It really brought back memories to me, for I had not eaten a Cherry Mash for over forty years.

In 1956, 1 worked as an usher in a Wichita movie theatre.  The roof over the candy storage closet leaked, and a box of 24 large Cherry Mash candies were soaked.  I really loved the candy, and since they couldn't sell the damaged product, the manager gave them to me.  The candy was fine.  The wrapping was the only thing that was damaged.  I ate all 24 of them over a fairly short period of time and have not had a Cherry Mash until this past weekend.  I just ate too many too fast back then.

I do believe that I am "hooked" on them again.  This small size is just great. Thank you for giving me the opportunity of tasting you great candy again.

Yours truly,
Claudette

CHERRY MASH MAGICIAN DIRECTOR

Today, I received a package of Mini Cherry Mash delights!  They were a gift from a Missouri native who learned that while here in Colorado, the Cherry Mash was not available and that this delectable candy had been a favorite from decades past.

The flavor - marvelous flavor - has not diminished at all.  Thank heaven.  The size (regular) is smaller than I remembered .... but who cares!!

Thank you for continuing to produce such a sweet taste from my yesteryears.  Please thank your entire staff for their pride in providing a quality package.

Sincerely,
Sandie

Dear CEO:

For as long as I can remember I have been eating Cherry Mash candy. As a child it was a special treat; in adolescence I could purchase them myself and as an adult I have searched the candy racks from coast to coast looking for a Cherry Mash.

As a government employee, I travel and work all over the United States and Europe. For 31 years my mother has taken time to purchase a few or, if she could get them, a box of my favorite candy - Cherry Mash - and send them to me wherever I happened to be living and working. On the occasions I make trips home (Kansas & Oklahoma), I purchase as many Cherry Mash candy bars as I can find These are carefully packed, kept cool and earned back to my assigned work site.

A recent trip to several states for business and pleasure prompted this letter. The trip was a total of 24 days. Rural Kansas is still where I am able to find these delicious candy 'bars' with ease. I purchased all the grocery store had on hand! During that time my Cherry Mash candy was packed in freezer bags, packed in a cooler of ice (to keep from melting in the 100+ temperatures). They traveled with me through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky to Ohio. Oh, yes, they made it fine! I am savoring every one.

A trip once a year to the Midwest does not allow me to have a Cherry Mash each time I would like to eat one. Mom is willing to send them to me; however, in order to do so, she has to drive into town, purchase them, box & wrap for shipment, then drive to town to mail the box. It doesn't sound like much for people who reside in large cities. The nearest town of any size for my parents is about 20 miles one direction and 37 miles the other. A small 'village' is about 6 miles away.

Now that I have presented the information, hopefully, you will see the problem. Is there a place closer than Kansas for me to purchase a Cherry Mash? Or is it possible to purchase directly from Chase Candy Company?

Please send the information to the above address. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,
Carey

Gentlemen/ Madam,

My name is Mary. I was born in St. Joseph 73 years ago this September, and one of my fondest memories of growing up was Cherry Mash Candy. I hate Chocolate covered Cherries, but your confection is the most delicious, I think it even beats Hershey Bars.

I was just in St. Joseph and bought 24 of the Large Cherry Mash and one package of the Mini bites to bring home to my friends. Of course I had a couple in the motel room. I really thought I had died and gone to heaven. . .

. . .Please accept my appreciation and gratitude for your Cherry Mash confection. As I said, it was one of the joys of my childhood. Of course now, I don't need the calories, but at my age I feel, what the heck, enjoy it old girl, and I do.

Most Sincerely,
Mary

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have been a long time fan of the "Bing" candy bar made in our hometown; however, I found a replacement!!. . .Chase's Cherry Mash!!!

The taste of your candy bar is much fresher! The cherry flavor just melts in your mouth.

The only bad thing is that I have a hard time finding this candy bar in Sioux City. Once in awhile our local Hy-Vee store will carry them. Where may I buy them on a regular basis? I replenished my supply this weekend when I headed to Omaha and found them at a gas station in Crescent, Iowa.

Awaiting your reply...Keep up the good work with Cherry Mash. I've even given them to friends who are addicted to the "Bing" candy bar!

Sincerely,
Marilyn

Dear Sirs;

I was born and raised in Clarinda, Iowa. I grew up with Cherry Mash as my favorite candy. Each year my mother would make me a cherry chip cake for my birthday with Cherry Mash frosting. My favorite! In 1969 we moved to Oregon and to my dismay we were unable to get Cherry Mashes here. I have had to settle for having them only when we were able to travel back home.

My 21 year old son knows how much this candy means to me.

You can imagine my surprise on Christmas this year to open my gift from him and find two cases of Cherry Mashes. He said that he made many long distance calls to stores and your warehouse before finding out about the web site.

I am so thankful for such a thoughtful son and to you for starting up this web site where we now have a regular place that we can get our favorite candy. I have shared some of my candy with my family and your web site address. I am sure you will be seeing more orders from Oregon.

Thank you for the opportunity to purchase your product.

Mindy
